The College of Liberal Arts is the largest and most diverse of the colleges at UNLV. More than 3,000 students are enrolled in various undergraduate and graduate studies programs such as anthropology, English, history, political science, philosophy, and others. Private support for the college also helps centers and programs that reach into our community, including the Women's Research Institute of Nevada, the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History, and the Child School Refusal Program.
As part of the university's comprehensive campaign, the College of Liberal Arts has identified the following key fundraising priorities:
Faculty opportunity fund
Support for faculty research; teaching; and curriculum, professional, and administrative development directly affects the diversity and quality of teaching our students receive, both inside and outside the classroom. This program also provides support to help the College of Liberal Arts recruit and retain outstanding faculty, especially those who are specialists in areas where few qualified candidates are available nationally.
Endowed named fellowship for Preserve Nevada
Preserve Nevada is an organization in the college that was founded by an experienced and committed group of preservationists devoted to Nevada's cultural and archeological heritage. An endowed fellowship, named in honor of a donor, will fund a graduate assistant position, allowing a dedicated student researcher to work to preserve state history.
"Invent the Future"
Major support for the college will create endless opportunities for tomorrow's leaders in a number of fields. In honor of a significant gift, a donor may name the College of Liberal Arts or endowed faculty chairs, professorships, or scholarships.
