The UNLV Libraries support the mission of the university to emerge as a premier urban university, embracing the traditional values of higher education adapted for the global community of the 21st century. The libraries foster information literacy, working with the UNLV community to think critically, create new knowledge, and be lifelong learners.

As part of the university's comprehensive campaign, the UNLV Libraries have identified the following key fundraising priorities:

Research collections
Support for the research collections will provide funding to expand and enrich print and electronic books and journals, digital collections, media, curriculum, and image collections to support research and academic programs.

Undergraduate initiatives
The libraries support programs to teach UNLV undergraduates the lifelong critical thinking and technology skills necessary to find, evaluate, and effectively use information for academic and workplace success as well as in their roles as citizens.

Documentation of Las Vegas history
This pre-eminent collection of Las Vegas' history, culture, social, and environmental setting is recognized by historians and researchers worldwide. Private support will facilitate real and digital access to materials and information as well as help the UNLV Libraries Special Collections department identify, collect, preserve, and manage information and materials in all formats.

Fellowships
Privately funded fellowships help the libraries provide internships, graduate assistantships, and other designated scholarly positions to UNLV students and visiting scholars for specialized research in the libraries' Centers for Gaming and Oral History Research.

Digitization Center
The Digitalization Center enables digitization of materials, Web publishing, and online exhibits of unique collections, and encourages their use in curriculum at UNLV as well as elementary and grammar schools, international scholars, and the general public. Your contributions allow focus on historical maps, diaries, manuscripts, letters, photographs, oral histories, and resources essential for documenting Las Vegas and Southern Nevada history.

"Invent the Future"
Major support for the libraries will create endless opportunities for Nevada's largest public library. In honor of a significant gift, a donor may name facilities, programs, centers, and collections.
